MECHANICAL BREACHING TECHNICIAN
TRAINING COURSE

PROVIDED BY SAN DIEGO CITY COLLEGE, MILITARY EDUCATION PROGRAMS, AND RIPCO LLC TACTICAL TRAINING
THIS COURSE IS A 2 DAY INTENSIVE, FAST PACED COURSE, DESIGNED FOR THE PATROL OFFICER AND/OR DETECTIVE ASSIGNED TO DAILY GENERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES
ALSO PERTINENT FOR THE SWAT TEAM MEMBERS WHO HAVE RECEIVED NO TRAINING IN MECHANICAL BREACHING OUTSIDE BASIC SWAT ACADEMY TRAINING
The course emphasizes the need for street patrol officers and detectives trained in gaining rapid, positive and dynamic access to an objective through any obstruction. Often the patrol officer or detective may, in the daily course of business, need to make immediate entry without the time and availability of a SWAT breacher. Upon completion of the course, the individual officer will be able to act as Breacher, with techniques providing for reduction in workplace injuries and reduction of potential agency liability. The Mechanical Breacher Technician course includes practical applications used currently by US Navy SPECWAR and Non Compliant Visit Board Search and Seizure Team Mechanical Breachers, as such, this course has an additional emphasis on Maritime Interdiction Operations, also providing practical training in breaching metal doors and walls, bulkheads and hatches, in addition to wooden doors and entry ways.

The Mechanical Breaching Technician course will provide training in the use of
1) Manual Breaching Tools and Techniques, 2) Mechanical Breaching Tools and Techniques, 3) Ballistic (Shotgun) Breaching Tools and Techniques and 4) Exothermic (Torch) Breaching Tools and Techniques.

Upon satisfactory completion of the course, the student/officer will receive a certificate from San Diego City College, Military Education Programs, as a Mechanical Breaching Technician.

When: TBD 8 AM – 5-PM, 2 days, 16 hours of instruction.

Location: TBD (Day 1, Range Day 2)

Cost: $400.00 per student/officer. All training materials, safety equipment provided, except individual body armor provided by student. (No POST reimbursement) $50.00 deposit required for registration and to maintain training slot. Financial aid available. All students must be in good physical shape and be familiar with the handling and use of Remington 870 shotgun or equivalent.
